Prepare to be mesmerised as textiles and AI-generated imagery merge to create an imaginative landscape. At Day Studio Gallery, you can embark on a captivating journey through artist Jess Coldrey's dreamlike world exploring chronic pain.

This evocative exhibition delves deep into the experience of endometriosis—a condition that affects countless individuals yet often remains misunderstood and overlooked. Drawing inspiration from her personal experiences and dreams during her laparoscopy surgery, the artist weaves a tapestry of symbolism, surreal gardens, and disorienting swirls, depicting the presence of unwanted growths within the body. Let your senses wander as you encounter this unique series of large textile pieces meticulously crafted to mirror a diagnosis journey.

'Into the Rabbit Hole' is more than just an exhibition—it is a powerful platform for raising awareness and fostering inclusivity. Coldrey's artistic vision aims to create a safe space for discussion, breaking the silence surrounding chronic pain and offering solace to those who navigate its intangible nature.

Coldrey's artwork has been exhibited worldwide, including in London's Tate Britain, the Museum of Australian Photography, and the distinguished United Nations COP26 conference in Glasgow. Focusing on sparking conversations about sustainability and inclusion, her work has been featured in Frankie Magazine, The Art Almanac and Australian Photography Magazine. Passionate about speaking out about her condition, she hosted the inaugural Australia-France Endometriosis Communication Forum and is an advisor to the patient advocacy organisation QENDO.

Don't miss this rare opportunity to delve into the depths of a condition that affects millions worldwide. Join us at the Day Studio Gallery, where 'Into the Rabbit Hole' will transport you into a realm where art and empathy intertwine, inviting you to see beyond the surface and discover a profound appreciation for the human experience.

This project is generously supported by the City of Stonnington and presented at the Melbourne Fringe Festival.
