Pain Pageant

Pain Pageant was a solo show at Mannningham Art Gallery using drawing, photography and conceptual fashion to explore the social taboos around endometriosis. It utilised metaphors described by research with patients; stabbing, biting and burning, to convey sensations, while tapping into Coldrey’s lived experience of expectations around how pain is performed and presented in societal contexts.
